A Little About Me

Well...here we go again.  I have such high hopes sometimes.  I really thought I could keep an awesome blog my first year as a teacher.  Surprise, suprise it didn't work out.  Kudos to any teacher who has survived their first year and wrote a blog all about it.  I had a great first year, but it took a lot out of me.  70 hour weeks to be precise.

I am now entering my third year of teaching.  My first year I taught fourth grade.  I was fortunate enough to loop up with my wonderful kiddos.  I taught them fifth grade and had a baby last year.  (You guessed it...I didn't even TRY to start a blog.)  Now, I am staying in fifth grade.

I teach reading and writing at an inner-city school.   Like 99% on free lunches inner-city.  I love it.  I love my students and my job.  I love my school.  Basically, I love teaching and teaching seems to love me.  I am the Head of the Literacy Department at my school.  I hope to share my successes and resources this year.

Outside of school, I am a wife and a new mommy.  I have been married for over 2 years and have a 6 month old boy.  For me, life is amazing.  Hopefully I can share some of that awesomeness here.  So...here goes nothing.
